With the exception of the vlc media player, it depends on what OS your computer is running:
For windohs boxes, you might want to try Apollo media player, which has plugins for many formats, and provides very high quality output

For GNU/Linux, the XMMS media player is a very popular media player, similar to winamp. It'll play virtually any audio format. Use apt to install it under Debian distros, and if you're using slackware or something you already know more than I do
For Macs, you can use the ogg plugin for iTunes. I have no idea where you find it, or how you install it. If you have a Mac, ask your Mac guru.
The aforementioned vlc media player is available for almost any operating system, and will play darn near any media you throw at it, including DVDs
