You can call me TC

Well, it takes all sorts, Azahar. Perhaps some people really do feel cheered up when they hear some silly songs.

I didn't start the thread because of "server too busy" messages, but I'll have another go now. I think there was one way way back, but there's new blood around, so we might get some new ideas.

Or I could copy Steve Lamacq and ask everyone for a "Good day, Bad day" suggestion. Decisions, decisions.

The Dead Ringers rip-off of James Blunt had him singing "Morrissey keeps telling me James Blunt is rhyming slang." Which it should be.

Probably Pink Floyd should be the winners for me with "Us and Them" although all of Dark side of The Moon is quite grim, also "Wish you were here".

"The riverboat song" by Nick Drake is quite a downer too

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like

But not depressing, surely?

Just very, very emotional?

It is emotional i agree, but truely depressing that human beings are capable of hanging innocent people from trees.

I still think Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf takes some beating for droning on,and on and on,then JUST when you think it's over...it drones on a bit more, for luck !

I know this is just me but a while back our best man was involved with a totally bunny boiler and now I can't hear the song "You'll never get to heaven if you break my heart" without it sounding cohersive and desperate rather than playfully romantic.

I don't know why people keep picking on Dark side by the Floyd it is nowhere near the Final Cut, Roger Waters at his most depressing.

One song I find utterly depressing is...
Suicide Is Painless by Johnny Mandel.

Theme song for MASH the lyrics are quite cryptic.

Not depressing on a personal level, but really quite depressing at a human race level - and quite topical at the moment, too - I'm going to nominate Duran Duran (yes, they! Wot, meaningful lyrics from the New Romantics' most fluffy popsters! smiley - yikes)...Playing With Uranium.

RFsmiley - evilgrin
