Canterbury, Kent, England. Too much to see in such a small City. Far too much history for a small County.

Stratford-Upon-Avon. Get past the Shakespeare guff and look at the river Avon running through, the buildings less than two storey high and not made of concrete, the greenery, the surrounding countryside. Lovely.

1) Lake District
2) The Central Highlands
3) Anywhere within shouting distance of a decent pub selling at least half a dozen real ales and stocking a decent selection of single malts

Dartmouth is very beautiful but I would definitely vote for the Highlands in Scotland, Lochaber, Fort William, Glen Coe

The scottish hills win every time for me. Why? because they are generally quiet, beautiful in their own way, not busy and there is a fair chance of seeing nice wildlife.
