No I don't remember that. It was Alabaster by the time I joined in 2000. The Blue Goo was actually readable in those days, and looked quite good! Not like the wimpy stick letters in Goo now, which makes that skin completely unusable.

Like Gnomon, I joined in 2000 and don't remember this. I'd got a very slow connection then & couldn't handle Goo so I stuck with Alabaster although I lurk in Brunel at work where I've got a screen filter

Yes. I'm one of the many that joined when H2G2 was launched on Tomorrow's World - my first entry is dated June 1999, and that's some time after I joined! Back then, 'Goo' was all we had. I'm one of the (comparatively) few that have been active from day 1. I may not have as many edited entries as some, but I've never left!

I regret ever seeing this thread. Not only are my eyes sore from seeing that horrible blue page, but I can't get that Michael Jackson song out of my head
