He apparently posted something inflammatory on the Della Wars thread and that was it.
Comments?
Alex.

Well, I know "upset" isn't very helpful but that's how I feel.

Thank you Mol.
And We were seriously thinkijng about setting up another forum for people who wanted to know about Science and stuff. It's ashame that it won't happen now. Maybe somewhere else though eh?
You brought out the best in Hoo.

Jeepers! Of all the people to fall foul of the transgressions procedure, noneother than one of the masterminds behind the current system we have in place today.
It was inevitable though that someone would receive a ban, what with the Italics posting their general warning to all present in The Forum a few days back in an attempt to try and diffuse the situation. I hope Hoo will return, it'll be a great loss if he doesn't.

Thank you Croz.
He is a master mind and he would love to hear that of course.
And as you said: It was bound to happen to someone.
But hey. He will bounce back. Here or not. (He says he's not upset about it by the way).

Shame, always someone whose post I look forward to reading.
Been here before I think, hope he comes back again.

I *believe* the reason Hoo got banned was the post he put up talking about the putting people (or the lack of putting people in some cases) on pre-mod.
He was pre-modded a while back and made the system fall apart within 48 hours.
He said in the post that if the mods wanted to put him on pre-mod again they could do and he would see how long it would take to break the system again.
They have banned him for one month instead.
It was overall a true factual posting. No flaming in it or trolling just saying that pre-mod does not always work - if and when it is used.
So tow the line people or else.
And as was said last time Hoo was taken off-line - if the site really does become duller due to one person leaving the site it doesn't really say much for the site as a whole does it?

As an observation, I've lurked a lot in the Della wars stuff - although not exclusively I'm not all knowing in what people have been posting. I was mightily narked off by Della a long time ago and have more or less refused to respond to anything she posts since.
However, some of her main adversaries make me fell rather similarly.
Hoo was not one of those latter crowd.

Yes I think you have been here before Orcus.
Thanks anyway.

Yes but Alfster, *nobody* can take in the *whole* of this site. So while I won't even notice he's not there at Lil's or in my journal, other threads will have a bit of a hole in them, to say the least.

To Alf:
<>
ooh how cool is that? A very clever guy showing everyone else how clever he is.
<>
It was flaming and the moderators did the right thing. (I know what he said).
<>
He is being modest there (erm maybe). He IS amazing and how great is it to share that?
Alex.

Well, as Hoo himself has said, if you dare someone to get you and then they do...
Still, can't help feeling that whoever was behind the decision doesn't like having their authority challenged.

I wondered what had happened. There is a new 'rules reminder' on the announcements page so I figured something was going on somewhere.
I was looking forward to the 'Open Hooniversity' science thingy (yes, I lurked and spotted that great name idea)

However, there has been plenty of more mindless, less specific flaming that made bugger all point at all and that has always been left up with no one banned.
Key: Complain about this post
