It also makes your horse faster. That one piebald Icelandic my sister was riding only went forward by jet propulsion smiley - laugh

I once knew a girl who did that.

smiley - laugh The best way to get our smiley - pony Lucy to fart was picking her rear hooves. Even worked when she had a colic!

Nice! Handy to have a relief valve!

Speaking of which, horses have a fart button, a pressure point up under the tail, above the anus. gentle manipulation will produce relaxation and usually a fart. Very handy when you've got a colicky smiley - ponysmiley - ok

I've got a button somewhere around there, too...but it makes me do something else entirely.

"We are doing things now the country has never done before, certainly in peacetime, and there is no clear indication of the path back. The financial mess that the next government – and the one after that because this won't be just a four-year job – will have to clear up looks more frightening by the day." smiley - erm

Well, yes. But in similar circumstances, FDR said something along the lines of we would be foolish if we didn't try *anything* that might work, no matter how unusual...and if it doesn't work, we should stop and try something else.

Yes, Ed smiley - smiley
All those that are in a position of responsibility for the well-being of nations have my deepest sympathy for the extreme pressure that's on them to find a way to avoid disaster.

But as the link I posted suggests (or was it another article?), those who have obviously contributed to our current economic position, should make clear their past mistakes, and then we can all go forward together with the obvious sacrifices that we all have to make. This hasn't happened yet, and mostly the blame is being put on USA etc, which IMHO, is far from correct.

What's the point in trying to build up the nation's "banking system" to its former glory, when there's obviously (to me, anyway) something wrong with it. I believe that we are all being duped, and the truth of our situation is being "hidden from us", as usual, so that those who have status can continue with their salaries etc.

Some people will obviously have to "pay" for our predicament, in fact many already are. To feed the banks continually with large amounts of capital to "prop it up", is only distributing money to the well-off. I know the argument; create wealth and then taxes can be used to redistribute to the poor etc. But is that what is likely to happen when there is a deep major reccession looming? I don't think so!

A year on and where are we ?
With everyone getting a bank account just one step closer towards a cashless society able to live on plastic. Giro's straight to the bank what could be simpler ?

Three years since first post and the value of money continues to fall.
New money in the form of the Euro cannot keep pace with demand and all currency accounts have added another zero or two or shifted the decimal point to achieve a balance.
