I also had a good laugh about Jamie Oliver being selected as Tory candidate to replace Howard Flight but I don't think that was a joke

I'm rather disturbed to find that this isn't an April Fool:

I saw this in The Independent newspaper yesterday and then had a look for the story on its web page last night and could not find it. It did not seem to be reported anywhere else i.e. beeb news website.
Has anyone got any more sources for the story other wise it may well be a dud.
The timing would really mess up JO's better school meals message if it was thought that he had a hidden political agenda which he says he has not got with this subject.

Teasswill,
The left / right hand drive car was BMW's yearly spoof (an electronic sensor would detect where the driver was looking - no need for a streering wheel that swings from left hand side to right). I think that last year it was a windscreen made to the drivers prescription for specs. One year it was an electrostatic coating that needed to be plugged into a machine at a BMW garage so that all the dirt would just fall off the car. I want one of those.

Microsoft Renames Internet Explorer
REDMOND WA, 1 April 2005

In a surprise move this morning, Microsoft's burgeoning Public Relations department has announced the company will be re-naming Internet Explorer to "Screaming Dolphin" in all future versions of Windows.
Industry experts have dismissed the new name as a lame attempt to cash in on the growing popularity of alternatives to Microsoft products that have names revolving around animals such as foxes and penguins.

... new suite of products (nicknamed the M-pod) includes a spam only e-mail account, a pop-up only browser, and a multi spyware installer which allows all the more popular spy and adware programs to be installed at once. Plans for a random overseas auto-dialler have been temporarily shelved.
