What flavors are in Revels?
Thatprat - With a new head/wall interface mechanism Started conversation Oct 31, 2008
I'm wondering what the standard flavours are in Revels, 'cos I've just brought a pack with the new 'limited edition mystery flavour' included, and can't tell which one it is.
Oh, by the way, it was coffee that got the boot to make room for it.

Nothing special about that, a lot of the food I cook has a mystery flavour.

The article tells me nothing...
I had the mystery flavor, and it definately wasn't orange, but I couldn't identify what it actually was.
Xan,
Yes, but this is a mystery taste on purpose.

I like revels but I haven't had them for a while. Does the mystery flavour remind you of anything because that should hopefully bring you one step closer.

Yes,
It's kind of caramelly, but beyond that...no idea.
I suspect I may have to buy some more for further experimentation.

Is the center soft or hard and if it is hard is it crunchy or just the same throughout.

It's soft. Much like orange, apart from the flavour.

If it's the consistency of an orange one, but with a flavour more like caramel, it could possibly be fudge?

Hmmm, according to a quick search of w*k*, the replacement flavour is strawberry.
It's a bit of a stretch, but you might just be able to call it strawberry...if you haven't tasted a straberry for real.

So something almost, but not entirely, unlike strawberry?

Pretty much. You'd probably say 'yes, that's strawberry', if someone told you it was beforehand, and you might guess it, but it's not guaranteed.

Ah come on I hate Strawberry flavoured fondant...and they took out my favourite for that?
Just as well I don't eat them anymore...

I just want to add to the chorus of disappointment on this new Revel flavour. I'm glad to see the back of the coffee one (though am still furious about the raisin one) but surely everyone knows that the chocolates most likely to be thrown out with the (admittedly 'old-skool') box are coffee, Turkish delight and strawberry?
It's an outrage! The coconut one needs to come back. Mint would have been a goer. There were so many options.
*Strawberry*?!
(I also am disappointed with the distribution of flavours in my current gigantic Revels bag...they've employed the same method as my iPod shuffle, or me when I'm shuffling cards - i.e. ten disappointing new flavour Revels in a row.)
On a side note, I'm wondering whether this thread should be marked with 'SPOILER'?

New Revels sound like mixed Poppets, now They were fun as you had Orange, Mint, Strawberry and erm some other ones. Revells sound similar but with a few minstrels and chocolatey rasins thrown in. Bring back Poppets i say.
