Bring your towel to the Movie!
Baron Grim Started conversation Feb 18, 2005
I think it is a moral imperative that all avid fans of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy bring a towel to the theatre when they see the movie...
Rabid fans should also wear their dressing gowns!

I concur.
Will the Edited Guide be available for PDAs in time for the movie? If so, it'll be possible to bring a genuine, working book to the movie!

You konw, I'd love to, I really would. But a suspect the lass who, by that time, will be my wife may slightly disagree. And not want to be seen with me in public. Ever again.

OH GEGGS!... You must...
If you plan on spending the rest of your life with this person she MUST be able to handle you in a dressing gown in public!
You're a Hiker!
You can wear it over your normal clothes, that's ok .

I think she would rather like to burn the dressing gown I have at the moment anyhow. Wearing it in public would not help matters. Unless I suggested that she could burn after I have worn it out in public just this once. That could work. Hmmmm......
The towel should be easier to get away with though. I could wear it over my shoulders in the way that Mos Def seems to be in the trailer.

I'm sorry, this is so not going to happen.

I will take a towel. That will happen.

Should we plan a meet? The release date is on Friday the 29th April so what about as many people as can make it meeting up to go to a central London showing on the afternoon of Saturday 30th? Or even a synchronised viewing, with simultaneous meets in places like Manchester and Leeds too?

We'd have to book tickets well in advance. But I like the idea and I'm sure there will be many hikers in their dressing gowns, not just hootoo researchers.

I'm not sure we would have to book in advance. Some of the Leicester Square screens have a huge amount of seats and the film will be shown in plenty of places. I should think it would be fine to have a fairly fluid arrangement of seeing how may people could meet in Leicester Square at a pre arranged time and take it from there.

The Odeon Leiceser Square has 1612 seats. I've been there and it's an amazing place to see a film. The Emipre has 1330 seats. I'm sure we could squeeze in somewhere.

That Odean is *really* uncomfortable. I went there with Blues Shark and J to see something or other. It was great to see on such a HUGE screen, but the seats need some work!

I have a brand spanking new cinema on my doorstep. With six screens. I'll be there on the Friday night, I've already oked it with my daughter. Hopefully son-in-law will babysit both lads so I'll have someone to go with.
I'll definately be taking a but think I'll leave my dressing gown at home. I saw myself as Trillian, not Arthur.
My mobile phone also says "Don't Panic!" when I turn it on!

I'm with Mina (I wish!) on this one...
No towel for me. I *do* carry a towel on my golf bag and in my car, but that's for more practical reasons than being a fanboy. I will be at the cinema opening night, albeit in Pennsylvania somewhere.
