What happens if you take an overdose of antihistamines? Do you die from lack of histamine?

I don't know, but I'm still fuming because my favourites (Terfenadine-based ones like Triludan) were taken off the market because they could be dangerous in certain circumstances. The replacements are more expensive and don't work so well. Fortunately, my hay-fever seems to be easing up as time passes.

Good Question. I enquired on your behalf and my hystologist said it could cause you to become abnormally hirsute although this is hardly a historicity. His advice was not to become histrionic although i personally believe he suffers from hysteresis and should be ignored. If i was in this situation i would be straight round to my rabbi for some hyssop, try not to get hysterical and if all else fails i've heard drawing histograms is very therapeutic. Good luck with the hypothyroidism it is apparently the one side effect that wont resolve itself.
p.s Don't let your karma run over your dogma.

Have you tried asking your doctor if you can get them with a prescription. These days I use the boots own brand, not as good, but good enough most of the time.

You could certainly get Triludan type tablets on prescription after the over-the-counter ban. My doctor just used to check I'd used them before and found them more effective and less sleep-inducing than the other sorts.
This year I've been trying something called Benadryl, the active ingredient is called acrivastine. They've proved fast acting, very effective and honestly haven't made me feel drowsy at all and even Triludan used to make me fall asleep.

When I first had hay fever I used Piriton, which made me drowsy at best. If I had a headache and took Paracetamol after having taken Piriton, the combination knocked me out.
I have considered going to my doctor and asking him to prescribe Triludan but, as my hay fever is easing up and I only need them occasionally, it doesn't seem worth the hassle. Besides, he'd have to prescribe at least 30 of them for it to be worth the prescription charge!

My doctor used to recommend Piriton for skin rashes and Triludan for Hay Fever. Piriton never did anything for my sneezing but worked wonders for nettle rash so she was probably right.
That 30 tablets isn't a lot you know - at 2 a day when hay fever's a problem it's only a fortnight's supply and they'll last till next year if you don't use them all.

You might want to ask your doctor for Zirtek it's probably the most effective one i've ever used and I suffer seriously bad hayfever.
