Panicky Mac stuff

Post 1

I'm not really here

I've just started some temp/pt work in the office of a magazine and not only do they expect me to use a mac (for the first time ever) but what seems to be the oldest and smallest mac in the world!

They've all got ones that look like this: http://www.wired.com/news/images/full/02imac_hero_f2.jpg I've got one that looks like this: http://www.osnews.com/img/15122/imac4.jpg

Any tips? It all seems very slow and clunky compared to windows, maximising a window *doesn't* maximise it, so you have to then drag it as well, am I doing something wrong?

I asked if I could take in my laptop and one of the women there was very offended! (think she was joking though!).

Sho - employed again!

oh my! that's a (near antique) iMac in the original colour, if my eyes don't deceive me.

Tell them you want an LCD screen for health and safety reasons.

I don't think they'd go for that. They have it propped up on an old pc case - they lifted it up for me as they said the previous woman had it like that for EIGHT years!

It's an admin role, and only for a couple of months, so don't suppose they will rush to update for little old me.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

I loved my blue iMac... smiley - sadface and was very smiley - blue when I sold it for £200. However my Mum has a Lime Green iMac that I am tempted to buy off her for £50, purely as an investment, as it has never been used!!! And had a max. RAM upgrade!!! To 96Mb!!! smiley - yikes

Where I am going to put it is a problem!!!

smiley - huh
