Dexter (not) on my telly box

Post 1

I'm not really here

Anyone watch this? On ITV on Wednesdays I think it is. It's past my bed time so I record it every week.

I think it's so good I keep forgetting it's on ITV, but this week I had good reason to remember.

It started at least 15 minutes late. smiley - wah I add ten minutes to the end of each programme on timer anyway, but it being the last episode of the series I was a bit miffed to miss the end.

What happened after Rudy stabbed the dummy in the bed? That was right after the last ads came back on.

Or better yet, anyone know if it is repeated?

Install uTorrent and download Dexter from Mininova (make sure you seed back) and you'll be sorted. This is the 21st century: if the official content providers are still mucking you about they don't deserve your patience.

I do - and that's the second spoiler I've seen today. Oh well, this one was my fault for opening the thread.

It's repeated the night before the new episode, but I'm not sure what channel.

seen it first time round, ok to start with but got bored as it became too contrived for my liking. Plus I don't buy the "It's OK to kill bad guys" line.

An interesting concept, but the underlying assumption of what is normal and how we should all try and be that grated somewhat. Could have been so much better.

One of these days I'll have to catch the finale with the ice truck killer, just to see how it turned out. That and what the cop who didn't like him was all about.

I'm scarred to download telly and film stuff.

Sorry for the spoiler. oops.

As it happens I was flicking through the channels looking for something to fill ten minutes at about 11 pm when I caught a repeat on ITV4 - and amazingly at nearly exactly the moment I'd missed. Didn't look like I missed much!

Don't worry Mina, smiley - cheerup it's repeated next Tuesday on ITV1, allegedly at 11.35pm but as it follows the footy I should stay in to watch rather than trust the recorder. I don't think you can get Dexter on the ITV catch up service (at least, I couldn't find it).

Hint - Have you typed 'watch Dexter online' into Google yet? You might get a pleasant surprise...smiley - whistlesmiley - musicalnotesmiley - musicalnote

smiley - love Thank you!

Going back to this:

"Plus I don't buy the "It's OK to kill bad guys" line."

I'm pretty sure that's the gist of most action films these days. smiley - ok My dad is a western fan, so it's *always* ok to kill the baddies if you're a goodie.

I'm not sure that there is an "it's okay to kill bad guys" line as such - 'Dexter' is much more than just a programme about a vigilante. Dexter kills because he has a compulsion to kill - he's managed to channel it towards killing other killers, but he doesn't kill bad guys through a sense of justice or moral outrage, misplaced or otherwise.

I think the intention is to play very clever games with the viewer's sympathies.

"I think the intention is to play very clever games with the viewer's sympathies."

I agree. I just don't think the intention was realised in the programme smiley - smiley Didn't live up to the promise for me.
