...this, although not strictly from a news programme, is interesting, on Departure Lounge a BBC1 travel programme, there was a family stopped at customs and genuinly surprised that a handbag normally on sale for around several hundred pounds, they bought for around a tenner in a street market was fake!!
....my sister bought a Lois Venton (sp?) handbag on a certain web auction site and swears it's got to be real due to have a ''tag'' like genuine ones.....one born every minute sis!

Gotta love the Swedes ....
A Swedish library, realizing that books are not the only things being judged by their covers, will give visitors a different opportunity this weekend—to borrow a Muslim, a lesbian, or a Dane.

What really got me was the BBC news-crew doing the same thing on the telly a few nights ago. I mean, their job is to tell a story, not to feed people and rescue people: the story really highlighted for me the inaction of a government who seem to be more interested in being seen to look good than to do good itself. Well done the Beeb.

Keith Miller yes that Keith Miller Posted Sep 7, 2005
No different to TV news reporters around the globe. Aussies and Italians,French and Canadians all trying to outdo each other with Tear jerkers for popular consumption.
'Today we were able to rescue some kids and a really cute little doggie which the Government were unable to save. Gosh their bad and we are good.

Actually no, it wasn't at all the sort of emotional sentimental tear-jerker that is irritatingly commonplace on television nowadays. The message came home to me that despite all the official language about the situation coming under control the reality on the ground / water was belieing this. What would you have them do?
