Fish with legs
bjoose Started conversation Jun 30, 2004
Aside from the mexican walking fish, I know its real name but can't remember how to spell it, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any fish with legs. I am serious about this it has been bugging me all night. Any other weird fish people wish to tell me about would be greatly appreciated too.

Oh yeah, and I am aware that the mexican walking fish is just a not-quite-matured salamander, or some other amphibian thingy.

Axolotl, I think it's called. Can't think of any others though.

What about the mudskipper? Or the lungfish? They say after Chernobyl they found some fish that had started climbing in trees. Though if that is true I don't know.
The coleacanth is supposed to have some quite strong fins as well, but if they are strong enough to walk with I don't know.

There's a non-native to the US fish that was introduced to the wild population when people bought them in pet stores, tired of them & dumped them in local ponds. They are originally from the Asian continent & once they've decimated the local fish population 'walk' on their fins to another pond/river. Can't remember the name though...

Hi, there is also the frogfish, a variation of the Angler fish. It has fleshy fins, and is able to walk on the sea-floor using these.

Hope that helps....

hmmm... fish with legs
The only fish with legs I have ever heard of is the evolution Darwin fish. It is supposed to be a parady of the Christian Jesus fish bumper sticker things people put on their cars. It is the same fish only it has legs and says DARWIN in the middle of it.
