And that's all I know about Doctor Who type things. All a bit before my time.
Actually. I know two other facts, but they're both about people who added to the production side of Doctor Who - I've never really watched it.

Of course daleks can look up. They can't look directly down, mind you. And they can ascend stairs. Not 'climb' them, granted, but they can go up them...
ALso, I can confirm that Dobermanns are capable of looking straight up at the ceiling, whilst standing on four legs. It looks a bit daft though. Well, dafter than normal.

I've just tried an experiment with the wife and the dog.
The wife held the dog firmly and I bent the dog's head back as far as I could get it go go. I'm impressed. Its nose was nearly touching its back.
I'm sure our little one is *perfectly* capable of looking up, but dogs are crafty and know that keeping their head down and looking up at you with doleful eyes has the desired effect

My dog can look vertically upwards fine... not just his eyes... his nose points to the roof. no force required. And he is on all 4 legs. Whoever made up this 'Dogs cant look up' was obviously

Well, granted it was by a character in a film, to be attributed to the certain type of crass statement only people who don't know their rear from their funnybone say. As to whether the writer was - well, who knows?

I've heard it other places too though... Perhaps they all dont "know their rear from their funnybone"
