At the convention I went to at the weekend, the music for the first part of the closing party was a woman singing theme tunes to anime and games. There were some real crowd favourites in there, and she had a good voice for them. She was so popular that she got called out for an unexpected encore, and had to reprise one of the earlier songs!

A few weeks ago I went to a modest festival and saw Phill Jupitus fronting the Blockheads on Friday night, Ozric Tentacles the Saturday night. Both were fantastic.
