I've dreamed about H2G2 before, that was pretty surreal sometimes; it came out as a kind of 'real life' version of the kinds of things that happen on some* threads', so was really very LSD-like Of course, not that I'd know what LSD was like or anything, I'm a good girl me I also had a few dreams about people from HooToo, in various weird situations, I guess though that isn't far differnt from 'normal' dreams as in the main they were people from here I'd met RL at meets etc Mind, that dream with Elton the ham[p]ster in was very disturbing...

I've had two or three lucid dreams since my first post . And I have noticed that these "active" dreams are a little exhausting, i.e. I'm not as well rested in the morning as normally.
Other than lucid dreams, my dreams have stayed very vivid, and often include everyday people and surroundings; so sometimes I'm not sure if something that I remember really happened or if I just dreamed it .

I wonser if, sometimes, we only imagine we are controlling the events? How could we tell if we were, or if we aren't?
Actually, since it's all in the mind anyway, clearly we *do* imagine we are controlling things...but you know what I mean.

In the episode where Father Ted shows Dougal the diagram of his head in profile, with the word dreams inside it, and the word reality on the outside of it.... I thought to myself that I could sometimes use a diagram like that.
I have actually started out telling anecdotes only to stop myself when I realized it came from a dream. Ok, there were no spider-babies involved, but still.

Talking to my wife about lucid dreaming, we came to realise that we dream in very different ways. I don't/ can't lucid dream, or at least, whenever I've started doing it, the realisation that it was a dream, stopped it feeling real. For her, it's a lot like daydreaming...but for me, daydreaming is a non-visual experience, I daydream in thoughts but not pictures.
So, what sort of daydreams do you have?

The suspicion dawns on me that some lucid dreams might be collective experiences: this might explain a situation where I have tried to make a character in a dream do a certain thing only for that person to refuse as if they were more than just a figment of my imagination and had a will of their own. Or in one dream, a girl I remember from university turned up, I tried to use the dream to explore why I'd been as attracted to her as I was, and reasoned that this might be a good chance for some unthreatening psycho-drama. As I was luicid, how could it be anything but unthreatening when I controlled all the shots? So I asked her to explain why she'd behaved as she had: her response was to casually say "You don't belong here" and throw a ball at me; I caught it, but it had enough force to propel me right out of the frame. So was she also dreaming and had just expelled an unwelcome presence (me) from her dream?
In another lucid dream, my lower self took over and I made a very physical pass at a girl I remembered from college many years ago. I woke up, thought "Interesting you should still remember and fancy her after so long" and put it out of mind.
Then I went to sleep that night and I was STRAIGHT back into that very same setting, with Denise yelling and getting angry at me and threatening that she'd have me up in court for indecent assault if I tried that again. I wondered if this was her dream and she was calling the shots, as all the power seemed to be with her...

It was all just your own conscious. It sounds like you have a healthy psyche.
