h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A bit random, I know. But has anyone completed Echo the Dolphin for the sega megadrive (re-released for the ps2 as part of a compilation?) just as when I played it on the megadrive (like five months ago, ) I'm stuck on the same spot. The level's called Dark Waters. It's the one where you go back in time and find the helix.

Anyway you find him and he totally kills you. Hi mister helix remember when we Arggghk! Like that. Am I supposed to fight him (in which case he's zapping me and giving me a thorough ass kicking) or should I have already found his globe? (in which case I have to start the freaking game over again unless I'm on the right level)

You apparently need to strike 3 or maybe 4 of helix thingy's globes that are the same colour. Then you can get the globe you need and are able to high-tail it back to the future to give it back to helix thingy.

Hmm maybe I should shell out some points to get this on the Wii virtual console. I only ever played it a few times at my cousin's house. I had a home console hiatus spanning 4 generations, my previous console was a Master System.

Thankyou Magwitch, but that's echo defender of the time which is the third game in the series. I'm playing the first one which is like 12 years old and was on a cartidge console. Although I'm going to be playing the second one as soon as I've completed this one

Try its mouth, being careful that you don't get eaten.

Aaaah, sing at it's eyes then charge it's mouth until you knock the jaw off then charge the gaping hole.

Then play echo 2

And watch the thing you just killed eat the asterite.

Oh my Ecco the Dolphin...I'm stuck (for about two years) on Tides of Time, I can't get past the Medusa. Does anyone know how to get past or kill the blighter?
