I find can be quite handy in a hungover situation - sugars and so on, gives you a bit of a boost.
Lots of is good too.
My flatmate went out saturday night, got back in the small hours and didn't get up till lunchtime on Sunday.

Whats wrong with that. Seems perfectly normal behaviour to me. Only a masochist gets up before mid-day on a Sunday after a good night out on Saturday.

Ah, but he's usually such an abstemious soul...
But I take your point. I've drunk the clock round in the past!

Must be your influence Jimbob. You dont want to be alone when the grim reaper comes to send you to eternal damnation.

Oh, I'm not worried. According to Justin there won't be enough 'saved' to field a football team, so I think they'll be a queue for the hot place.

Hello all!
I remember having a dream on Saturday night about posting something on Hootoo! It was quite a shock to see that I had in fact posted something for real. I'm not quite sure how I managed that as I really was quite Mullered!
I'm fine now thanks, after spending the whole of Sunday on the couch in my pyjamas and duvet watching rubbish TV. A whole pizza and numerous finished the cure.
Needless to say that I am NEVER drinking again!

My 2 cents:
Water! Drinking plenty of water while you are drinking helps not to get too drunk and soothens the hang over, a simple chemical reaction... the body needs water to get the alcohol out of the system. For every glass of alcohol you should drink a waterglass full of water.
Try it out next time, you see it works.

Geez, when you are in the loo you are not at the bar! Somehow I miss your logic Donald.
WHy would you get sooner drunk? I said water. W-a-t-e-r. Not beer.

Becasue I like it.
Water, beer whats the difference, it still fills the bladder and if I'm going to fill my bladder I would sooner do it with something that tastes better than water.
To much valuable drinking time wasted if you need to go to the loo every five minutes.

I still recommend water... not necessarily one per drink, but at least one large glass before bed and one beside the bed if you wake in the night... Dehydration is the main cause for the headache. I've read a better article on how dehydration effects the hangover somewhere and since I started making sure to rehydrate before bed and all the next morning, my hangovers have been MUCH more tolerable. (unless I'm drinking G&T's ... then I'm doomed)

I even posted the reason for it somewhere. Like I said before alcohol needs to be transported out of the body. For this it needs to get reduced to different molecules, this process needs water. If there is too less water avaiable a toxid interim substance can freely cause damage and thus your headache. Water it down, so to speak...
