A Conversation for Ask h2g2
What is that piece?

I've been watching the new series' of Battlestar Galactica recently and there's a piece of music in episode two ('Valley of Darkness') of season two that I really, really like. It starts about 20 mins in and is repeated toward the end of the episode.
After a decent amount of time spent Googling I have been unable to discover what the piece might be -- the only thing I can seem to find is a soundtrack to the series, and having listened to several sample pieces provided online I have concluded it is not on the soundtrack.
So my question is: does anyone know what this piece is? (long shot).
To help with identification I might be able to post a link to an audio grab of part of the song here but I suspect this is on unfirm ground both legally and with regard to the House Rules. So I guess I'm stuck with my long shot.
Any offers?

You should be ok with posting a link to a bit of the song as long as it's not too long
Can't help with the actual question sorry. I've never understood why TV programmes don't have to have a song list in the credits like movies do, especially as now that many TV series are being put onto dvd and there are episodes being left off or changed because of music copyright

Is it a piano piece? There's mention here: http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0519791/ of a track called "Metamorphosis" being used from Phillip Glass album "Solo Piano"

Yes it is, I looked up Philip Glass on allmusic.com and it is one and the same.
Thanks so much coelacanth!
