AdviceParamedic Posted Jan 2, 2004
If you are with a person who is having a minor Epileptic fit you should:
1. Help the casualty to sit down in a quiet place, and remove any possible sourses of halm - for example, hot drinks - from vicinity.
2. Talk to the casualty calmly and reasuringly.
Do not pester them with questions.
Stay with them until you are sure they are themself again.
If they do not recognise and know about their condition, avise them to see their doctor.

AdviceParamedic Posted Jan 2, 2004
If you are with a person who is having a Major Epileptic fit you should:
1. If you see casualty falling, try to support them or ease their fall.
Make space around them and ask bystanders to move away.
2. Lossen clothing anound the neck and, if possible, protect their head.
3. When the convulsions cease, place them in the recovery position.
Stay with them until they are completely recovered.
If casualty is having his first fit, repeated fits, or is unconscious for more than 10 minutes, Call for an Ambulance.
Write down the time the fit started and the time it ended.
