According to my extensive research there are at least 4 different tag themes at the moment (not counting 2legs' one of forgetting who he is everytime he changes his name):
There's the K people (ReddyFreddy's fault I think)
There's the backwards people (thanks to Smij - an italic no less )
There's the trads - doing the yearly Halloween anagram (not sure who started that originally but let's blame it on Mu Beta)
And there's that upstart acronym lot (Trin's genius that one).
Given how many people got pissed at the Halloween anagrams last year (I think someone even left the site), should we be trying to minimise distruption to the site?
Or should we do the usual free for all?

And there's me, reveling in my newfound freedom, since my entry is now finally out of Peer Review and I can stop advertising it in my name tag. But I'm sticking to changing my tag (from a list of good* tags I've built up and stored on my computer). I'm not messing around with my base name. And the tags have nothing to do with current events, here or elsewhere.

You missed the eye candy, kea
Hey, it'll all be over in two weeks, I really can't see what's wrong with this. I mean, if in doubt, just click on the link and have a look at the person's PS - in most cases, it says who they are in 'mormal' times, or you'll recognise it if it's a friend anyway.

Eyecandy I don't understand.
I clicked on someone's PS before to see who it was and I couldn't tell (without alot of digging). That did happen last year. It doesn't bother me much, but it does piss other people off.

So, it's Roynondo that is responsible for the Ks. I'm sure we can still blame RF somewhere in there too though

Tis just a bit of fun isn't it?
If people get peed off with something as trivial as that then tough. And if it makes you read someone's PS surely that's a good thing.

Well it is just a bit of fun unless you are involved in one of the more serious discussions and don't know who you are talking to!
What irritates some people is sometimes the name changing game drifts from one game to the next without a break, yes you can check personal spaces, that is a chore if you have to do it a lot.
.....surely the answer is to have your original name in brackets to identify yourself in fairness to those not involved in game!

I don't have a problem as long as either the tag name or the tag line remain the same.
If both are changed, well, what's the point?

I was talking to someone in a thread yesterday and didn't know who it was, went to their PS and still don't, although I have a few ideas...
For some reason known only to my subconscious I never ever change my nickname or add a tagline. Wish I knew why

"doing the yearly Halloween anagram (not sure who started that originally but let's blame it on Mu Beta"
Oi!
But, naturally, I think we should all be doing anagrams.

Yes, but having two vowels ain't any better...
Why not try an acronym

Go on, I bet you picked Mu Beta as your new name way back at the start of the year just so you could have eat bum at Halloween.

I suspect we are beyond help, but it might be worth a go.

Maximum confusion?? I should say so...all the naval establishments around here who usually provide a firework display seem to have got Bonfire night and Halloween mixed up..so they are providing a sort of Hallow Burns evening somewhere around the 26th October..
So why should h2g2 be any different?
I'm giving up on the name changing..it's exhilerating for a short time but when no one recognises you it gets lonely.Bedides which finding an anagram of Incognitas which makes any sense is mind numbingly tedious.
I tell you what why don't we all just change our names to 2legs?If only to confuse him for a change.

Excuse me, but if you don't know the person you're talking to anyway, does it really make a difference if they call themselves Anabel or B'Elana? And don't tell me you know everybody who posts on 'ask' - I'm not going to buy that.
