Still looking for truly intelligent life on
If no intelligent life to be found would be happy to find peace.
Merry Christmas.

Yes! Somehow, all the humanoids did, making life easier for make-up and wardrobe. But there were a couple of 'monsters'. One was admittedly some huge mutated bacteria spawned in space deep in the garbage chutes of the mining ship Red Dwarf, but there was some sorta sea critter on one planet they visited. It was bigger than a Dune-worm, big enough to swallow their shuttlecraft/bug. Or was that Lexx? No wait, it was Enterprize ..or was it DS9?

Try a curry and tell me that was this culinary miracle is just some evolutionary accident. No sir, the curry is living proof of the highest form of intelligence, mastery of the appetite.

I believe, as Gnomon does, that there are aliens on other planets, especially - else where have all the space probes gone?

ah right, thanks for the reminder on Red Dwarf. Just been watching it at my parents and reminded me how good it was.
Off to find out what's happened to the Mars probe.

I have some similar thoughts scrapy1
I have no trouble believing there is some sort of life.
I also can believe it has already been here as the tiniest of particles and failed or arrived dead. We have not discovered all the life forms on this planet yet!
I tend to think all life has some mission, don't know where the precise line is for intelligence or whether to believe it is out there.
The only thing that gives me pause about being alone would be our egos. Our egos are big enough that other intelligent life could easily be overlooked if it appears quite different. It took a long time to recognize intelligence in some humans & most animals.
I can imagine another solar system with intelligent life.
No more than we humans have learned from our own history I can also stretch to *imagine* this may not the first go around for human beings on a planet

A Dent, possibly, there was something on an Arthur C Clarke site about large possibly crystalline worm like structures that he debunked I think.

A, Dent, Interesting, I hadn't seen that one before!
Only link I can find to the one I mean is
http://www.enterprisemission.com/images/arthur.jpg
and I think it is a case of a concave object looking like it is convex. Gawd knows what the shiney ball type effect is though.
But if you like your Viking insects, try this place!
