According to the official film website certain theaters in the US are going to be doing a one-off showing of...

LotR - FotR (Extended Version)

followed straight after by

LotR - TTT (Extended version)

and finally

LotR - RotK (Normal version)

In one evening (Dec 16) - one after the other smiley - yikes

By my reckoning that's going to be about 11 hours of film to sit through!

Anyone over there masochistic enough to try sitting still for that long?

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

11 hours? Pshaw smiley - nahnah There's a cinema here in Austin http://www.drafthouse.com which occasionally shows 50s horror flicks for 24 hours straight. It's free to get in and free to get out if you stay the distance, but the earlier you leave, the more you have to pay smiley - tongueout

Incidentally, it's where Mrs Gosho and I saw FotR smiley - biggrin

I have done a Dead by Dawn before smiley - smiley and once, back in the day, there was a Star Trek marathon of all the films came in at something like 14 hours, so I cannot wait for UK cinemas to show all the LotR (especially when the extended version of RotK comes along hee smiley - smiley) Until later....

The trouble is is that Newline are apparently only printing 150 individual 35mm copies of the extended versions, so unless you know a cinema that's equipped with a DVD player and a 15 metre wide TV set the chances of seeing the extended versions in a cinema are pretty low smiley - wah
