Here's a random thought that I thought might be worth documenting.
Take two celebrities with the same first name, but widely divergant careers. Imagine an alternate timeline where they swapped careers.
The example that first came to mind were Bruce Willis and Bruce Forsythe...
"Bruce Willis' Generation Game"
"Bruce Forsythe in Die Hard With a Vengance" ("Yippiekayaye, mother er, to see you, nice!" )
Any other good examples out there?

Will Smith and Will Self?
I can just imagine Will Self looking disgustedly at the aliens in Independence Day and saying "this alien is so lame I don't even want to shoot it."
As for Will Smith... you'll have to help me here.

Hi Elly,
Richard Whitely is a British TV institution... he's a cheesy, queasy Quiz Show host of advancing years and waistline. And he's assisited by a 'thinking man's crumpet' called Carol Vorderman.
Anyway....
How about Marylin Monroe and Marylin Manson ?

'Happy Birthday to You' would never be the same again.
And it's actually Manson I think of as more suicidal.

How about (as was suggested earlier) keeping the surname and swapping first names: that could give you John Lenin and Vladimir Illych Lennon.
IMAGINE that!?

George W Bush v. George from Rainbow ... can't actually say that there would be any major differences, except of course one is a stuffed, pink, and slightly camp buffoon and the other has a friend with a zip in his face ...

Gordon Brown and Gordon the Gopher
Both have 'masters' that some think of as squeaky clean, but they can't really be can they?
Anyway, I'd listen to GG's fiscal policy, it might make more sense!
Peter Mandelson and Peter Bonetti - 'the cat' would have a safer pair of hands....

Also; strange you missed the obvious one (expects simulpost here):
Groucho and Carl Marx.
