My workmate and I are both 'past forty' but wish to go and see a band called Electric Six. Considering neither of us have been to a live show in many years and that they are playing at a student venue do you think we are being daft?

No, why should you? My fathers past 60 now, and still ocasionally makes it along to a few gigs of a medium/small sized variety

I certainly think your average Electric Six fan will see nothing out of place. They're not exactly Westlife, are they?

Not at all. When I was at uni a few years back, I went to see Feeder perform at my student union and there were people of all ages there.

Just don't wear faded jeans, black shoes and your shirt tucked into your pants. It's not a look you really want.
Also, don't stand at the bar sipping a pint - get involved!

I'm off to get the tickets at lunchtime!
By the way, do you think there'll be any Goths there? I really wanted to do that look twenty five years ago. Leather trousers the lot - I was too much of a wimp to try it though

I know plenty of Goths. Electric Six doesn't really appeal to the Goth community, because they're too frivolous.

Sorry B
My friends are under strict instructions to shoot me if I ever turn up dressed like that...
And I'm two years older than you!

in answer to an earlier question b, yes, you are getting old, if thats what you wear. theres no excuse for black shoes as casual wear, tucking in shirts OR faded jeans. none WHATSOEVER

If you're going to see Electric 6 in Manchester then I can guarantee there will be at least one goth there - me!
