I was very lucky to meet this gentleman - in the early eighties - one of those serendipitous meetings - we were both waiting for trains and queueing for a phone box, we got chatting, he thought I was amazing when I told him I had a Yorkshire mother, a father from Lancashire and yet I was born in Lincolnshire. He signed an autograph for my father, a big fan..

I met him once at a cricket match in Leeds. It's a pity more sportsmen don't behave so well.
