I ain't kidding. It's true. Fox is ending Futurama.
however, there is a petition going at http://www.petitiononline.com/safu/petition.html right now with over 3,500 names so please join that to try and help save the show.
also, chat about the show here. favourite episodes etc. Let's remember a great show!

I think it's supposed to be in syndication on TNT or Comedy Central or something. At least for a while, anyway.

It's a highly-rated show on Cartoon Network, and they're considering ordering new episodes if, when Futurama is shown there again, it gets good ratings again.
With notable exceptions like "24" and "The Simpsons", Fox wouldn't know quality television if it jumped up and smacked it.

exactly!
i think the problem with Cartoon Network in the US is that they are showing Futurama at 11:30pm, but one can but hope it returns with new episodes in the future!

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Aug 9, 2003
Futurama was being shown on Adult Swim at 10pm (Central time) until a few weeks ago, then they put Home Movies back on Not that I don't like HM, but I've seen them all five times each. There are many Futuramas I still haven't seen. At least they're coming out on DVD

I curse the networkexecutives who cancelled it!
And, since I don't have cable, I don't care if they do rebroadcast it on cable.

Very easily. You must remember that network executives are evil and they hate everyone. All they want is money.

Isn't it making money any more?
I thought it was pretty popular.

I always thought Futurama was very funny in fits and starts - and woefully unfunny in places. I'm far more t*cked-off that they cancelled Family Guy. It was ten times sharper and funnier than Futurama or many of the new Simpsons episodes.
I think what the networks in the States did to Futurama was to shift it around into many different time slots to benefit other shows, so that it never built up a solid core of fans. That's a theory I've heard, anyway.

They CANCELLED Family Guy?! AND Futurama?
The two best cartoons on television right now?!
I'm, well, sickened!

You're right Legion - they shifted Futurama from the original 8:30 time to 9, then 7, then 10 on occasion, and then 7 again. Confused the heck out of me. I don't know that it was to benifit other shows, though - everything else (outside of Malcolm in the Middle) were rather worthless shows and I changed the channel by that point.
It may end up being the first tv series I buy on DVD, though. I loved that show.

Futurama was cancelled long ago, although I did hear rumours that the petition had saved it.

If anyone saw the season fanale of Futurama last Sunday, at the beggining of the theme song, underneath the logo (where they normally write some joke) it said "See you on some oftther network."
