La Tosca

Can any of you British comedy afficianados out there offer any information about the radio show "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again"? I once owned a record with several of the shows on it and found it loads of fun. A very young John Cleese, my hero, was one of the stars along with Tim Brooke-Taylor. I know longer own the album but I retain fond memories of this hilarious show. The very silly theme song was called the "Angus Prune Tune" (who ever he is). Help me out youse guys!

I do vaguely remember it, though it was quite a long time ago

In case you're interested, the BBC has 4 tapes available :

Does anyone out there remember the excellent Radio 4 show 'The Burkiss Way'. Fantastic (late 70s) stuff, but you can't even get a tape of it these days. *sniff*

Verily, upon my very stair doth I have two tapes of the highly esteemed Burkis Way as sought out by my own antecedent (my dad actually)and discovered in the depths of a car boot sale. It contains many ritual blessings from the great god, Eric Pode of Croydon but it doesn't half sound a bit, well, weird now.

I should have some myself *somewhere* (one official BBC, one taped off-air). I'll probably find them when I move house again (soon).

I suppose many of the jokes must be very confusing for someone not completely au fait with the UK in the Seventies. - (Anglia TV, Lew Grade (aka Lord Russian Emigre), Tales of the Unexpected, Superstars, Blake's Seven etc.)

Still, there are some timeless pieces in there as well.

Man visiting dentist : 'Excuse me, it this the place where you take people's teeth out'
Receptionist : 'Oh no, we find it's much easier through the mouth'
Man : 'Oh - I'll put them back on again, then.'
*ZZZIPP*

It was produced (or directed) by David Hatch, and starring Jo Kendall, among otheres (including Fred Harris), so it seems it had quite a lot in common with 'I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again'

Really weird - I'd failed to find any matches whatsoever for 'Burkiss' on www.google.com, so I just tried AltaVista on a whim.

3 out of the first 4 matches are for the same article (on 3 different websites) on good old DNA - seems the whole HHG thing kicked off in 1977 when he met Simon Brett, who was then producing The Burkiss Way.
Small world.

I found this link as well :

I never realised there were so many episodes.
