The Keepers page (A441596) is now closed as I'm unable to add any more names to the it, as it fails the profanity filter, and I'm not spending hours trying to find out which word(s) are being failed.

for using 'ask' for this announcement, I knew this was the place where it would get read the most.

Let's not make this another anti-profanity filter thread, I think most are bored with that tune, fact is we're stuck with it, it has advantages, unfortunately it has its disadvantages too, and Keepers is one of its victims.

It seems like a hell of a task to go through keepers page, I may still try to find the word(s) that are preventing it being updated, I don't know but at the moment it's closed.

If anyone can see at a glance a word that maybe failing the filter, I'd appreciate it if you would post the name of the keeper of the word.

FYI Emmily, it's dead easy to find a word like this. All I did was copy and paste the GuideML into a newly created entry of my own. Then I deleted the list of Keepers and updated the entry - no problem. So then I put back the list of Keepers but deleted everything else, and then deleted half of the list and updated the entry - the filter blocked it, so the offending word had to be in the remaining half. I just kept narrowing it down by half each time and discarding the half that wasn't blocked until I got it down to a small enough number that I could read through them and find any word that might be the culprit. It took between five and ten minutes.

BH, I tested a few words, but was expecting it to be more than one word, and not part of a username.

It would have taken me longer because I would not have recognised that word as a problem. I've never heard it before.

I've heard of it, but it's not offensive IMO, just another word for 'pussy' not the purring type of

You never know what words are offensive and what words aren't. 'Pillock' for instance. A perfectly harmless word in London, meaning 'twit'. But when I moved to Manchester, got a job in a little sweet factory in Ashton-under-Lyne and called someone a pillock one day, I was almost fired for using a very rude word. To this day (more than 25 years later) I'm still not entirely sure what it means in that part of the world I think it's something to do with men's bits
