According to the BBC, 'The cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has soared and may now reach $811bn (£445bn), says a report by the Congressional Research Service.'
My question, then, is this:
After buying yourself everything that you ever wanted and making yourself ill by overindulging in every conceivable way, how many better ways could you imagine to spend such a stupendous amount of money, bearing in mind that, according to the same broadcast, the UN is cutting its food distribution in Darfur in half due to funding problems and a dear old lady in Lincoln (UK) apparently lived and died quite contentedly in a little house that would last have seemed modern when Queen Victoria sat on the throne?

That little old lady's house was on my local news this morning (I live about 36 miles away from Lincoln) the TV crew took a tour round the house and it was like going through a museum.
What would I do with $811bn? Fund my own charity. Find a cure for cancer. Give every child from 5-16 free education and then pay them to go to college. Tell certain people that their threat to sue if I speak up about a certain issue no longer frightens the crap out of me.

Surely the point of having so much money is that you no longer need a personality?

A tad harsh, especially when there's more deserving candidates than Northern Ireland. (Other lands beginning with "Ir" spring immediately to mind.)

With $811bn, I'd pay someone to sit beside the mods and give them a gentle slap every time they mod without good reason

Create an independent Europe that recognisises it's respective Nations, and accepts them as such, and treats them as Nations, not as pits ... and not penalise the weaker ones. Although, somehow I reckon that would take more than $811Bn. Anyone want to donate towards my idea?

Anybody any idea of the interest on $811bn?
I'm just wondering if I'll need to spend any of the principal.
I'd love to see my bank manager's face when I tell him I want to make a deposit.
