Can anyone organise a blind mate for me
Silverback2003 Started conversation Jun 4, 2003
It's come to my attention that there has been quite a few acts of coitus
which were initated thru this site. Now I also enjoy coitus but have
noticed my mating pool worryingly decreasing. How
can I best use this site to my advantage?
P.S. I don't necessarily want off-spring just yet so meaningless sex isn't out of the question either

Well, you could poke his eyes out, but I don't think it's a really good idea...

... I was thinking exactly the same thing!
Why don't you just go to a random bar, pick up some random fluff and see what happens ... you're in a no lose situation really ...
You can do what you want, say what you want, hell reinvent yourself and nobody will be any the wiser ... obviously if you're after more than a chance to dip your wick then the truth is going to come out sooner or later ...
A Blind date is nothing more than going out on a date with someone you've never met ... ok, the path is eased by mutual aquaintances but you still don't know them from Adam, or Eve for that matter.
The good thing about an arranged blind date is that you do have an area of common interest - that's to say the people who organised the date in the first place. The bad thing about an arranged blind date is that you do have a common interest - that's to say the people who organised the date in the first place.
Pick up a random and you've got a blank canvas ... usually!

I was just about to suggest you, 2legs.
On a serious note, as someone who has set themselves up on a h2g2 blind date, I can thoroughly recommend them - if you're insightful you can get a lot of information about someone from their online persona, and get a feeling for whther you'd get on or not.
The idea worked fine for Odo and myself.

When did this place turn into a dating agency?

Ahhhh, right I see what you mean now. I thought it was a strange title for a thread.

Purely accidental I can assure you Gosho, it nearly didn’t happen anyway as I hate phones. I’m very glad it did though.
From personal experience then:-
Distance is difficult.
E-mail is invaluable
Never judge a person by their ‘phone voice’.
And don’t just judge a person by their hootoo posts. They can tell you a lot about the person so are a good place to start, but people have an ‘off-line’ side to.
