Kraft Dinner! Though I don't know if thats a Canadian invention, but Canadians eat it on a regular basis. Maybe it gives them their strength to cut down trees, skip and jump, and press wild flowers.

Small donut balls to go with your coffee from a Tim Horton's coffee shop. Reputed to be made from the bits of dough punched out when making a regular donut.

...it would seem that noone has yet mentioned Bruce Cockburn (a musician) amongst all the wonderful things to come out of mountie country...
however, it would appear that the only thing worse than a fr*nchman is ...you guessed it...
A fr*nch-Canadian

If the "us" is inclusive of h2g2'ers, then I'd have to say the Canucks have given me a life, a home, a family that includes grand-kids that are Newfoundlanders (perhaps future seal clubbers?) and an opportunity to meet the rest of the "us" around here.

Ah, Newfoundland. My mother (an Ontario based English ex-pat) has for years been encouraging me to visit the place, as she thinks that I would really love it there. I was thinking yeah, yeah, whatever, some island off the coast of Canada. Then I found a map with the outlines of Newfoundland and the UK superimposed over one another - my God! It's a big place that Newfoundland, isn't it

Ah, Newfoundland : that reminds me of Annie Proulx ( who is half Canadian) and her wonderful book: The Shipping News.
And did somebody already mention Margaret Atwood ?

Where are these seal clubs that everyone keeps mentioning? What kind of music do they play? How do seals dance? Are there lots of girl seals there?

Now, that's obscure
BTW, do you want Greg Rusedski back? I know he was a good substitute for an Englishman: flattered to deceive, glorious failure etc, but you can have him back now.
Thank you

Greg has at least reached the final of a Grand Slam tournament (US Open) which is more than little Timmy has ever done.
But yeah, I think we're done with him now.

We'll keep Lennox Lewis though. At the time he seemed like a bit of an overgrown powder puff, but in retrospect he really was rather good; and was the last proper quality heavyweight boxer on the secene.

Newfoundland (rhymes with 'understand') was where my father was born and I visited there when I was 17 . . . a *long* time ago. We went from Port aux Basques to St.John's (and back again) hitchhiking. Also got taken out to a place called Leading Tickles to see icebergs in August. And also met many previously unknown aunts, uncles and cousins - some of whom I even understood when they spoke to me
Anyhow, I think it's a rather magical and special place and well worth a visit.

Didn't the person who invented giving insulin injections to diabetics come from Canada? Or was that just pro-Canadian propaganda?
