I suspect it works by inducing castration anxiety in the man in question rather than through any pyschological factors.

No, honestly, if you do it gently it affects the same muscles you use to stop pissin' mid steam... I'm not proposing trying rip his b*****ks off here

It's just that the words 'gently' has a whole new meaning when placed in the same sentence as 'pulling testicles'. A meaning which I fear many women have yet to appreciate.

Not even in the same chapter. There are remarkably few bits of the body that can be pleasurably pulled in fact. It's difficult to get away from the fear that the body part in question will become detatched or otherwise damaged...

It's not based on an actual experience.
More a precautionary based approach. I just don't see the need or attraction for having things 'pulled'. Nor I have ever been asked to pull on any female bits.
Depends what floats your boat I suppose.

Returning to the rubber delaying contraption, a problem can be that the application of the rubber might already physically excite enough to get a pre-premature ejaculation
On the other hand, just remove it again and the next one might take longer
