USA/Canada Work Visas: Information required, please

Hi,

I have organised a Working Holidaymaker Visa for my visit to Australia and would like to get something similar for the USA or Canada.

Most of the info on visas I have found on the consulate sites suggest that I need to sort out pre-arranged and employer guaranteed work. This doesn't really suit - ideally I want to get casual work to supplement my travels across the continent. I don't want to sign up to an agency like BUNAC, because I don't want to pay out all the money for that when my plans are so vague. Do I have to limit myself to 90 days in the States, or do other visas allow longer travelling time?

Relevant info: 23 year old graduate (of less than a year). British passport holder. Fly into San Francisco and out of Newark. Would love to work in either SF, Vancouver or Boston.

Can anybody help me out with information?!smiley - biggrin

I know you said that you have already been to the consulate's sites, so perhaps you already saw this,http://www.usembassy.org.uk/ukaddres.html, if not, its a list of phone numbers for the U.S embassy in London, several of wich are specifically for visa questions.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't notice it until now!
I'll have a go at phoning them soon - difficult to do it at work!
Much appreciated.
