people whistling in the street-old men used to do sort of trilling bird call sort of stuff. And those little bags you used to get in pubs with some crackers, a cheese triangle, a pickled onion and a little spreader. Come to that the cockle man ne'er cometh no more

those blue pens that had tiny ribbing round them and were the shape of cigars called 'handwriting pens' in the seventies? When you put them in your mouth the ink caused a heart attack feeling in the chest about ten minutes later-very good for really looking pained to get out of games last thing on a Friday. When the canteen did a salad day in the summer the barm cakes smelled of the ink too but that could just be something I need help with.

Over here in Aus, we still see quite a few skinks in the garden, and if you go up to the country area, you sometimes see lizards...
