..Matthew Parris. He seems like an incredibly fair, just, witty and intelligent man. I wouldn't like to *meet* him, but would like to know him socially.
Who would you like to know?

Barry Cryer. We could go out for a drink any time, and have a good laugh too. What more could I ask for?

Diana Rigg.
The first woman I ever had a crush on when I first saw her in the "Avengers". I was 8 at the time.............amazing what a catsuit and knee length leather boots do to a boy.
Having said that, I admire her career to date and would love to just say "Hi"

Paul Merton - (I'm just listening to Just a Minute so he sprang to mind quite easily) Probably wouldn't be able to eat or drink for laughing.
I expect a pleasant evening at the bar or in a restaurant could be spent with quite a lot of people. It doesn't have to be all laughs, there should be a certain depth to the quality of conversation. People who strike me as not too affected by fame and capable of talking "normally" include Will Smith, Shakira, .. there may be more, but I'm distracted at the moment.
Regardless of what he's like, I'd just love to spend some time with Dan Ackroyd.

Melinda Clarke - we could compare notes on dominatrices and our hair being alive.
She plays the dominatrix Lady Heather on CSI and Julie Cooper on the OC.
I'd actually like to know most of the cast of the OC, they all seem to be completely and utterly insane.

Anthony Worrall Thompson. He just comes across as a very down-to-earth sort, but (a bit like Boris Johnson) is very erudite.
He'd have to do the cooking, of course!
