Dick Cheney - Oh the Irony

A little late after the event, admittedly, but did anyone else find the Dick-Cheney-Shot-A-Guy-In-The-Face-Gate incident a pretty good analogy for the Bush administration's approach to foreign policy?
The questionable ethical end of blowing away birds bred domestically for the cause is achieved in such a way as to shoot randomly in its direction. OK, some innocent people might get hurt but hey, that's war for you...

Well he had not purchased the 7 dollar license to shoot quail apparently. So he shot the only thing he could.

Ah yes ... but an accident??? It WAS a Texas lawyer who he shot .... hmmmm
I have one question - how did he find a Texas lawyer who made it to 78 without being shot?
The question was asked on radio here today - "Where would you be safer - hunting with Cheney or driving with Ted Kennedy?"

I think someone told him it was Dan Quayle, unfortunately for him not only did he miss but was also several years too late!

there's been a song on the radio here....
"Cheney's got a gun" (to the tune of Aerosmith's "Janie's got a gun")

I'd rate Dick Cheney a 'not keen on'. When electioneering in a speech against John Kerry I thought he was pathetic to be honest. And the business with the flip flops was embarassing.

Dick Cheney is my new hero. What could be better than boozing it up while hunting illegally with a buddy? Besides, what's the worst that could happen...

I don't know a whole lot about hunting but I've been following this story, and it has been pointed out that quail are ground birds. If that's the case, how did Cheney manage to shoot someone in the face, neck and chest if - as he claims - he was shooting at a bird? Perhaps someone can clear that up for me.

Just because he works for the government and is rich and has rich friends doesn't mean he is capable of thought

In fact I think you'll find ability to think as being pretty much frowned upon by the US electorate when opting for a big cheese.

As an american, I should be insulted by everyone's awful, smart-a**ed remarks and, yet, I can't find the strength to be. I can't fight this horrible feeling of utter agreement.
I have a theory that US gov't officials loose the ability to reason due to the sudden loss of their imortal souls during the sh*tfest election processes called "campaigning".
Therefore, Dick can't help that he's a d*ck, but it is a lot of fun to watch in the end.

The way he was said to have whipped around and shot....
An obvious no no, for hunters.
The first thing I thought is he was shocked by his heart starter implant or got chest pain and accidentally pulled the trigger as he was feeling one of those sensations.
They went to a smaller hospital and did not report it until they were headed to or already at the larger one. It was first reported it was not known if chaney was shot or the shooter. It could explain a lot of things.
I am also surprised not more was told about the typical texas ranch hunt. I am not positive this was one but many are caged birds are flushed out of their cages , on cue , soon to be shot. They originally said he got out of the vehicle and was in position to shoot very soon and close to the car. I think that sort of hunting is bizarre , not sport
