I can't find the AskH2G2 thread when I ran away because my girlfriend had gone into labour - not a political affiliation[?!]
Just to let you all know she is fine now, brought on by a UTI and the contractions have stopped after a course of antibiotics and something beginning with r - sounded like retinol.
Mother and baby are fine and are recovering in ante-natal.
Cheers for the wellwishes.
Liam.

It's not here yet [phew]. It would be a little premature if it was - 32 weeks. Save your beer for now, though if you want to buy me one for the hell of it that's fine by me. My post was a little ambigious. Mother and baby are fine - baby is still in mother.
Oh dear - someone's started off the first posts! It'll be hot grits down pants and links to sites that have the word goat in them next.

Ooops! Wrong end of the stick - apologies, and hope all is well for the remainder of the pregnancy. The thread you were looking for is "Is this news" http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F19585?thread=199736

Indeed
My fault - very tired - which is why I'm spending time on h2g2 and not sleeping... Thanks all the same.
The bit you said 'eh' to is from http://www.slashdot.org it's "News for nerds, stuff that matters" Everytime a new story is added there's a fight for the first post. You have to read it to understand it.

Hi mate, exactly the same thing happened to my wife at 34 weeks.
Glad your baby is still hanging on in there for now.
Look forward to bumping into you on the H2G2 Parent and Child group in the not too distant future!
Just out of interest, did they offer your wife the steriod drug that is supposed to help premature babies lungs develop? Just incase junior does make an early showing.

Yup the missus was given two jabs of the steroid 12 hours apart. They weren't sure if she was going to last until the second jab. Luckily she did. We have a world class scbu at Southend hospital so if the worst does happen they are on hand.
Oh god, I'm really going to be a parent...
