Depends on your word 'off'. I've worked on the Royal Mile for the last eight years - the festival comes to me, not the other way around!
Please tell me that you are not:
Playing the bagpipes
A living statue
Appearing in a production of:
Macbeth
Accidental death of an Anarchist
Little Shop of Horrors
Or a may have to pinch you!
I sincerely hope you're not in any young Christian group with too many girl members putting on a musical (Please note I have nothing against musicals, girls, Christians or young people, exceopt when copmbined in this fashion)
See you there!

I've always fancied it, but never made it. When is it on this year?

There are in fact four festivals which run into each other: The Edinburgh Festival, the Fringe, the Literary Festival, and The Film Festival. Basically the last week of July through the first week of September.

Despite living in Edinburgh for the last three years, the number of shows I've seen is ridiculously low
Although, I did get to see a comedy show with Phil Kay - special guests Dylan Moran, Rich Hall, and Bill Bailey - that was pretty good. And Naomi Klein in conversation with Will Hutton at the book festival. Since I'm only working part-time this year, I intend to make up for this

Book soon - lost of the good stuff is gone already, and the two for one offers have been withdrawn. Alan Bennet was sold out a month ago when i tried to book. Arse.

I'll have to get round to it soon. Mind you, I'm in the trailer for the Edinburgh Film Festival....

And i'd advise anybody to go and see "1933 and All That" at the Demarco Rocket, it was he best show i saw last year. £8/6 a ticket with ten performances thoughout the festival.
The songs of Weill, Brecht, Hollander and other Wiemar Caberet writers are woven into a narrative about Bertholt Brecht and the life of the caberet and the emigres - all done in the style of Brechts plays. Very funny, very clever, a brilliant Jazz-Caberet band and a fantastic singer in the form of Anna Zapparolli, who performs what is practically a one woman show.
Last year i bought the album, and i'm still playing it. And i'm going back again to see it one more time. The company also have another show this year caled "All the Divas of Arabia".
It's that time of year again!

Edinburgh Fringe Festival programmes are out this week.
This year i'm not living up there so have to go through all the rigmarole of getting programmes, tickets and accomodation like everyone else this year.
Any researchers up there who could pick up a free programme and mail it too me? (Mail of course, not being free, i would obviously re-emburse)
Anybody know of any hot shows?

I will be going up to stay with mother for a week. I always double up parental visits with the festival, but rarely end up seeing anything .
