Rather brilliantly covered by The Flying Lizards, which *may* be the version you are thinking of...smiley - ok

Still Incognitas, Still Chairthingy, Still lurking, Still invisible, unnoticeable, missable, unseen, just haunting h2g2

I second that.First by the Beatles and then by the Flying Lizards. An example of a cover actually being as good as the original.

Incog.

There was a cover version with the lyrics spoken in deadpan
by a Chinese or Japanese lady and a very clangy piano beat.

Was that the Flying Lizards or another cover ??

Loved Gnomon's version!

That has just inspired a dreadful idea:

On-line, text-based Pop Idol!

I thought the Flying Lizards version was the original. But then I'm of the right age to have had no memory of the Beatles, yet to be geting into music about the time that the Flying Lizards etc took off.

**stumbles across thread**

Sorry, I couldn't let a monumental error like this go untouched, even six years on.

The original (and best) 'Money' was actually by Barrett Strong.
