Apparently a film of Futurama is being planned - imdb has it down for 2007, I believe. smiley - biggrin

Actually, that's just an unsubstantiated rumour. Officially there's no film in production. smiley - erm

Actually, the guy that wrote the thing about the Futurama film on IMDb apparently did it to prove that anybody can put anything they want there. smiley - erm

It's a bit like that.

Here's something from the Futurama page on wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama), so make of it what you will:

As of July 18, 2005, Billy West seems to have confirmed a "straight to DVD" Futurama movie on a video blog, however this is yet to be officially confirmed by either Matt Groening or Fox.

As of December 12, 2005, The Show's Creator Matt Groening "has faith in the relaunch of Futurama." He stated that theFox Network did not get the show. He also discusses the possiblity of the show's return and a straight to dvd movie in The Sydney Morning Herald.

On the Internet Movie Database, there is a Futurama movie page saying that the movie will be released in 2007. There is also a plot summary on the page, but Can't Get Enough Futurama reported that the plot summary was submitted by a user who wished to show that "anyone can submit information to them [IMDB] and unconfirmed rumours (and quite often blatant lies) slip through without being noticed."[1].

All I know is, Futurama has been gone for over a year now (?), and the secretary's desk in Rough Draft (as of about a week ago) still has an 8-ft statue of Bender overlooking her desk! So maybe, I'll send a resume anyway...
