i am ignorant of many things... like whether the meningitis and mumps vaccinations are the same one or... different... and at least here my general ignorance and stupidity can remain anonymous.

does anyone else not really mind injections? apart from last time (with the men c one) when my arm swelled up to twice its usual size...

bye

I haven't had a vaccination since childhood. If I thought I really needed one I'd be fine about the needle. You can't really tell ahead of time if you're going to react though smiley - erm

The meningitis and mumps vaccines are different because they're different diseases. You might be thinking of the combined MMR vaccine which is measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) vaccines all in one shot.

I was fortuanate enough to have had both kinds of measles and the mumps when a kid so have natural immunity.

I never had anything as a kid, not even chicken pox, so I shelled out for a vaccination, cos I worked in a supermarket and saw a lot of kids whose mothers think it's ok to let their kid out with chicken pox smiley - yikes

I'm fine with vaccinations and giving blood; I always watch the needle go in and it doesn't bother me at all.

I have a vaccination against flu every year, because I work in a pharmacy. Can't have it in my arm, though,it would make me unable to move my arm for days, so have it in ma a$$ instead smiley - laugh
