once it's not Japanese for "the back end of nowhere" (or Bally-go-backwards as we refer to it here) I won't mind that much I just found out they have snow. So that's good (I think).

Kakizaki is located on the north shore to the Japan Sea in the Niigata pref. of the Chubu (central) area.

thanks - have done that. One problem (isn't there always one!) EVERYTHING I can find about the place is in Japanese and as I don't speak a word of it, that's causing one or two problems!! But the search will continue
