I agree with most of the above but if I was in an overcrowded ballon I'd have to start with the manics (already mentioned above), Radiohead, The Smiths and almost everything produced by sick, aching and watereddown (except perhaps Sigue Sigue Sputnik purely for there novelty value and naiveity in having one song produced by them)
Most modern 'produced bands',
a certain Irish band I won't mention by name in case Tinkerbell checks out this thread!
But I must defend Robbie, I'm not gay but he could do it for me! I've not actually met him tho I've seen him a number of times thru work, and you couldn't find a nicer more genuine guy, tho he's a bit short on modesty (a foolish trait exhibited by people who haven't got a good thing to say about themselves) "I was Take That's best release"

I have never found anyone else who dislikes U2 i'm impressed by the show of hands.
I watched this thing about their album just because i felt bad and could shout at the t.v for a hour.
Their music makes my skin itch and above all i'm embarrassed by them.
Another one is Marilyn Manson please!!!!!
I also agree Manics.
My biggest fear goes out to:
killing joke

Oh U2 and Sting both seem to me to be so far up their own backsides as to be beyond redemption.
I have promised a friend to listen to their music and forget self indulgent pretensiousness of the artistes. Yes I will, I will... really I will. One day.
Ha!

Sting rules... You SHOULD give him a listen...
And he´s a nice guy, sure, not very pleasant in the younger years, but age has refinned him.
As a matter of fact I´m going to a concert with him next month Can´t wait to hear him preform...
Listen to his work, you won´t regret it... Want me to recommend some good albums??? I could do that you know

I never listen to any of the above because all the newer stuff is, in my humble opinion, a derivative load of pants and all the older stuff is just old and I've listened to it enough!
I am certain that all the derogatory remarks about individuals could be applied to the artists that I listen to ('World' music especially African) but as I can't understand a word they are singing (or saying) it doesn't make any difference to me - I just listen to what the music SOUNDS like which is, in one word, BRILLIANT
P.S. U2 only seem to know one song (as do their Scottish equivalent, Big Country)! Another vote there for U2!

I have a story for you Ben... One of my close and longtime girlfriends told me this, and I trust her story to be 100% true.
A friend of hers work as a bell-hop or something at a hotel in Copenhagen. He was working the night-shift one night and was cleaning up a bit to pass the time. A man in a worn down robe and slippers. Under his a arm he was carrying a travel chess set. He went up to the bell-hop and said the following: "I can´t sleep, would you mind playing a game or two with me?"
And the man uttering those words was, as you´ve no doubt guessed, STING...
Still thing he´s beyond redemption???

Well I don't like the majority of modern popular music, but most of it I can stand, some of it I can learn to like. But there are a few people so irritating that I don't even want to see or hear them for a fraction of a second and if the TV's on and I see a glimpse of their faces I will scramble for the remote so fast there'l be a sonic boom in the living room (think there's a song in there?)
Anyways they are:
1) Christina Aguilera
2) Jennifer Lopez
3) Kylie Minogue
4) Robbie Williams (he may be a nice guy, or not ... I just don't like his videos)
Strangely enough, Britney I can stand! Mariah and Celine, sometimes, sometimes not. I certainly won't go seeking them out, though!
Maybe I'll soon add a few more names.
Key: Complain about this post
