Who has got the worst Boss ?
Red (and a bit grey) Dog Started conversation Apr 30, 2001
I believe that I`ve got the worst Boss on the planet - petty minded, agressive and unsympathetic. Anyone out there that is in the same situation ?

I had a boss that "freed me up to pursue other opportunities" while my infant son was still recovering in the hospital from major surgery.
TOP THAT! You can read the full story in my posting in "the best of times the worst to times" thread.

I did see your posting Mostly and was saddened by it. Was your Boss a one off mega-b*****d or was it a never ending series of minor blows like my one deals me ?

so Red Dog, has your boss p****d you off particularly badly today? we could tell you some stories about one of our ex-bossess, a very wound up civil servant. it was a joy sometimes going to work to watch her stab people in the back for her own gratification... couldn't we agcB?

i've always found that going doing the pub and bitchin to anyone who'l listen is a good way to de-stress. remember people like that get promoted to where they can do the least harm.
I once had an out of body experience talking to her – I imagined myself getting out of my chair and stabbing her through the eye with my pencil, but she still kept talking!!!

My boss opens my personal mail, kisses my girlfriend and often compels me to wipe his nose.
Still, that's what you get for being self employed

Top this:
-Octogenarian 4' tall female tyrant; steals everyone else's ideas whilst rubbishind said ideas and the producers of same in public.
-Requests totally stupid things at antisocial times (like sending me to buy a beach ball from Harrods at 5:30 on a Friday evening, knowing I had to meet someone at 6:30.
-Forbidding people from taking holidays if they are at times that inconvenience her. She once tried to stop someone's marriage as it would mean their honeymoon would be at Christmas.
-Paying us (the employees who earn her her money) a pittance whilst she raked in six-figure sums a year.
-Getting us (employees) to run errands for her husband's company and run personal errands for her, including having to spend 45 minutes travelling to and from her flat to change a printer cartridge.
-Totally misusing her staff (eg I am possibly the highest-educated person in the company but I'm paid the least).
I really should get another job; trouble is, I don't have any opportunities to gain experience or anything like that. Training? You've got to be joking! Easier to fire people and employ someone who's got the skills.

Not the worst, but needed a place to vent...
I work in a university library, where we are being a bit strict on fines because people have been blatantly taking advantage for a while. Recently, someone contacted my line manager and said that "a young man" had told him that thirteen pounds of his fine would be waived, which then was not waived. He's probably telling the truth, but the incident is so long ago, that the three young-ish men in the department (of which I am one) can not remember it. My boss has decided it is important to know who told him the fine would be waived, so she's getting him to come in and will hold a (in her words) "police line-up" to identify the person.
As you can imagine, my two male colleagues and I feel about as big as a grass-hopper over this, as it makes us into near-criminals, whether he identifies one of us or not...
None of us feel we can say anything to her, as she has dismissed people's feelings before (telling people who didn't want to dress up for Children in Need fund-raising that they were "boring", and ordering one or two to dress up).
Lots of - we're hoping the guy doesn't come in.
