Why did they stop going to the moon?

Yay!!! Fellow Biologist for space travel! And to answer the earlier question about a space elevator they aren't likely to build one because of unimaginable costs. It would take billions to design, trillions to put up, and would run slowly enough and take so much energy to maintain that overall it's better to do things the old fashioned way for now. Still, it sounds cool, especially after a few fermented vegetable drinks.
