First of all thanks for your help on my question about colors! I’m one of the very few people on The Language Thing who try to learn some French. At the moment I’m incredibly busy with my studies at university, so there is hardly any time to study French, which is a pity. I looove learning French, it’s a beautiful language! I have a question about the usage of “en”:


question : Tu as un livre sur Paris? (Do you have a book about Paris?)
réponse 1 : Oui, j’en ai un. (Yes, I do.)
réponse 2 : Oui, j’en ai. (Yes, I do.)

Are both answers grammatically correct ? If so, is there a difference between the two versions, e. g. is one more formal than the other?

Oui, j’en ai un = Yes, I have ONE
Oui, j’en ai = Yes, I have SOME

that's true and it's a great idea. I don't have accents (on my keyboard). Yet.

lol what a pity.

the easiest (i didn't say easy) is to go to the character map and copy the accented letters you need onto the bottom of the document. then you can copy/paste them as needed.

a tip: keep "é" copied and just controlP it as you need (a lot). then go over the doc again and add the others.

And, as has been mentioned various times in various places - there are various nifty things to do with NumPads and so on that can get you accents if you're on PC, and I'm sure there's a Mac equivalent. Actually, I'll see what I can do about establishing a list of them...
