The whole Eminem thing was pretty brain dead too.

they play the radio at work, and after, say, 9 or 10 hours they've played the same songs 5 or 6 times for 5 days a week, you start by not liking a song, then liking it and then you hate it because its been played so much, maddonna's american pie and the beautiful south's perfect ten are good examples, but after a while when they stop playing you start to like then again.

"Mr Loverman" is by Shabba Ranks - and yes, it is ghastly. What is more ghastly is that this snippet of information is taking up valuable space in my overstretched mind !

I am all out of patience with that "Dog" song too. Woof, woof, my ass. How 'bout I call the animal control people, how'd you like that? But my all time worst song has got to be --oh, lord, I'm dating myself now -- Mandy by Barry Manilow. Oh, lord. It's about his dog, for crying out loud. Wait, am i seeing a common theme here?!

I've never been able to stand the song 'Feelings' (can't remember who it's by). Richard has it on the end of a tape and I always hit Fast Forward when we get to it.

Anything performed and/or written by Phil Collins. 'Nuff said.

Oh, I can think of worse than Phil Collins (ignoring the fact that I quite like some of his stuff). Just about any cover version from the late 90s. Come to think of it, just about anything that made the charts in the late 90s. (Excluding Shania Twain. I quite like some of her songs.)

Queen's I'm in Love With My Car, if only for the lyric:

Tell my girl I'll have to forget her/Rather buy me a new carburettor.

Lyrics, of course, maketh the song - which means most rave music comes pretty high on my list of naff.

In I'm In Love With My Car's case, of course, lyrics breaketh the song...

I just thought of a trio of individuals that should be taken out back and shot, if nothing else but for their contribution to the increasing blandness, commercialism, and shallowness of modern popular music:

Yanni, Kenny G, and Michael Bolton.

Everlasting torture in Hell is too good for these people.

Add to that list the likes of Steps, S Club 7, any 'boy band' or 'girl band'... They can't sing, can't dance and the only good songs they record are cover versions. I don't like blur or oasis, but at least they come up with original stuff.

I hate 'Downtown' by...well, anyone who's sung it. It has the added hatefullness of sticking in my head for about three days whenever I hear it...GGGrrrrrrrr.
