Ashes 2010
Secretly Not Here Any More Started conversation Nov 24, 2010
I don't have Sky TV, I'll be off to bed at about 1, but I thought I'd start a thread for anyone up and watching/listening.
I've got 5 Live on. England won the toss, batting first.
Anyone excited?

I think I'll be listening overnight if I can get my old radio to work so I can get MW (my usual bedside wireless is a DAB/FM model but I'm now living in a little valley with no digital signal).

And that triumphant defence of the Ashes lasted all of 3 balls. I'm going to bed.

We started out listening to the radio five feed (bbc website) and then freak went through to the other room with the laptop and a google search for TV streams. Had a choice of english or aussie feeds
He's off sick since he broke his collarbone so can afford to go nocturnal!
Fingers crossed for a demonic display of first class bowling tonight!

Well, I watched their first 46 runs. The deomic bowling display didn't really work out...
Ah well. I'm not sure how the rest of the night went, I'll be seeing the Freak when I get home and getting a ball by ball account of it though

Wow! Brilliant bowling, England! 5 wickets for 31 runs!
Try not to let the 6th wicket stand for 307 runs before you do that, though. Handy hint for next time.

And they're off!
England away to a flying start with 2/3, but that man Hussey's in now... Australia advance to 40/3.

Australia all out for 245. Is this England's chance to go one up? A strong batting performance needed from England today!

England 90 for 1 at lunch. Dare I risk the wrath of the gods of cricket by saying that that is a reasonable start?

And not a bad finish at 317/2.
Can they bat through tomorrow and give Australia a punishingly high total to try to achieve? I hope so.

Lunch. England 449 for 3. Pietersen 158, Collingwood 40. Replying to Australia’s 245. A lovely analysis on TMS: “England are doomed”

551/4 at stumps. Let's hope the weather's better tomorrow.
What's Pietersen been taking? every time I check his score, his strike rate has increased!

So, England have declared on 620, giving Australia a target of 375 to make England bat again. Seems a bit on the low side to me, but I guess the conditions warrant it? Also, they're expecting to lose some more time to rain...
Hope they start knocking over some wickets soon.
